In our Playgroup, students will experience energetic play based learning through stimulating activities that are linked to the English Foundation Stage Curriculum. We are preparing today’s children to use the English language in all our activities and to become independent thinkers and learners of the future. Mums and Dads will also have the opportunity to meet other parents and build a supportive network of friends.
Age: 1yr 6m – 3yrs
Times: 9:00am — 11:00 am and 11:30am — 1:30 pm
Supervised free play: planned to challenge each area of the Foundation Stage of the British National Curriculum. This includes: building; threading; imagination play; puzzles; water; sand; role play; cutting/pasting; games; sorting; matching; sequencing; books.
Circle time: where discussions take place, interaction with peers and the teachers are facilitated, Letterland characters are introduced, songs are learnt and stories enjoyed.
Outdoor Play: in one of our two innovative and safe playgrounds, our students are able to experience activities that will develop their body movements and confidence.
Art & Craft: we provide activities and opportunities for students to develop their imagination and to experiment and create through mediums such as paint, collage, sand, junk modelling, playdough, clay, corn starch and a host of wonderful “messy” activities.
Cooking: our students all participate in cooking lessons, from chopping to spreading, baking and tasting. This is an excellent introduction to the maths and science concepts needed for future life skills.
Music: “Music is the food of life.” Our students are exposed not only to singing, but are introduced to musical instruments along with concepts such as rhythm, beat, fast, slow, loud, quiet, movement and time.
Snack time: this is an important area in a child’s social development; our students are encouraged to make choices and participate independently.
Only one adult may accompany each student for the duration of each class in the campus and cannot swap mid-session.
As our medium of instruction is English, we ask that adults only speak in English in the classroom.
All mobile phones are switched off in the classrooms.
