Assessment is central to a successful curriculum and an essential part of effective teaching and learning. It enables teachers to adapt their instruction to meet individual needs and aspirations.
At Anfield School, we utilise assessment to:

• Help students recognise their achievements and understand what they need to do to improve their learning.
• Enable teachers to plan and differentiate their instruction based on students’ learning strengths and needs.
• Inform parents about their children’s progress and how they can support their learning and development.

At the end of each academic year, students complete the Cambridge Primary Insight (formerly INCAS) online assessment to evaluate their progress in English, mathematics, and developed ability. The results are documented in the End of Year Academic Report, where each child receives an attainment level in English and mathematics, reflecting their progress throughout the year. Additionally, at the end of Year 1, students undertake the U.K. Phonics Screening check to assess their reading progress, while Year 6 students complete the U.K. SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) assessment to evaluate their grammar skills.
