Inclusive Learning

At Anfield School, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment that meets their individual needs. Through a partial inclusion approach, the St. Bosco Centre provides a tailored teaching program designed to help students access the U.K. National Curriculum while developing essential life skills to become global citizens in our international setting.

What Does Inclusion Mean at Anfield?

  • Equity and Access: Inclusion means ensuring that all students, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities, have equitable access to education, resources, and opportunities.
  • Celebration of Diversity: We embrace the diverse cultures, languages, and abilities of our students, fostering an environment where differences are valued and celebrated.
  • Community and Belonging: Inclusion promotes a sense of belonging for every student, encouraging them to feel safe, respected, and valued within the school community.

Within the St. Bosco Centre, we create personalised learning for each student, focusing on core subjects such as English, maths and science. Learning objectives and activities are specifically tailored to individual needs, allowing students to build a strong foundation of basic skills while being appropriately challenged. Students also have opportunities for partial inclusion in mainstream classrooms, which helps them develop social skills and adapt to learning in larger group settings.

Class sizes in the St. Bosco Centre are kept small, with a fully qualified teacher experienced in working with students with special educational needs (SEN) and two teaching assistants providing additional support. This ensures that every pupil receives a high level of guidance to maximise their academic progress. As students advance in their learning, we aim for full inclusion in mainstream classes, fostering their independence and integration into the broader school community.
